Kick Start

Kia Ora bloggers,
Today I will be showing you one of my summer learning journey teasers. Most of you already know what the summer learning journey is, but if you don't know what it is its basically a wide range of activities for you to do in the summer holidays and you can get points. This is not a real activity, this is a teaser which means I don't get points.

For this teaser activity called "kick start". I had to choose a picture to colour in from the Art Colouring Book. The picture that I chose to colour in was of a series of disordered watermelons, I know it sounds a bit weird but once you see the artwork you will understand what I mean. Here it is!

Tabloid Sports Reflection!

 Hello bloggers,

Today I will be telling you about Tuffery Class's Tabloids. So we were split up into 7 groups of 3 or 4, in these groups we had to choose a activity to teach Room 8 and 6 (the other senior class's). It was so fun to teach the class's our game but it was a bit hard to keep everything under control(now I know what my teacher feels like). SO I will be sharing my reflection drawing.

Here is a picture of us leading the activity

I hope you liked it! If you have any questions please leave a comment and I will make sure to reply! See you later guys.

Diya's!

 Kia Ora Bloggers!

On Thursday last week we made diya's! A Diya is a little bowl that you make on Diwali and fill it up with sweet treats. I had to go to choir practice but when I came back everyone had already started, I decided I would go have a look at my friends so I could figure out what to do. If you would like some more in-depth instructions check out Neha's Blog Post

Here is my Diya.

Have you ever made a Diya? If you have what was your favorite part?

Digital learning

Hello fellow bloggers,

This Morning my class got to go and meet Jessica from Digital Ignition a d learn about a few pieces of Digital technology. We had to match up old technology with its new counter parts.

then we split up into groups of three or four and designed something on Makers Empire; Makers Empire is a platform that lets you create a load of cool and exciting things like a variety of different characters.
Then we got to have turns in our groups playing with Be-bots(I forgot what they are called). They looked like little robot ladybugs, we had to program them so they knew where to go.

I would love to use Makers Empire in my class because it is so fascinating to create and discover new pieces of Technology. I love playing on Makers Empire and I think others do to; so to conclude I would love to have makers empire incorporated in our work.

Have any of you guys ever used makers empire? If you have leave a comment on what you like the most about it or what you have created.

Pink day!

Buenos dias bloggers,
Last Friday it was Pink Shirt day! On Pink Shirt day everyone is encouraged to wear Pink, In 2007 when David and Travis made a Holt to bullying after a new student at their school was bullied for wearing pink. David and Travis went out and bought dozens of pink shirts then they gave the shirts to all the students at their school the next day.
Pink Shirt Day is about working together to stop bullying!
Here is what I wore on Pink Shirt day!

Did your School celebrate Pink Shirt day?

Mini film festival

Kia Ora Whanau, Our teacher gave us a task to make A little film that is less than a minute long and is about kindness. My brother and I made one of these “mini films” and it was so fun! The Director with me and The co-director was my brother, we were both actors. In this from the main idea of this film is to be kind to others and others will be kind to you. A little tip for you is that you should Re-watch each scene and go over the things you missed. Now the part that you and I have been waiting for the great reveal! Hope you enjoy!

Taekwondo

Kia Ora bloggers,
Today our class went and tried Taekwondo. It was so fun, we got to do relays and we got to practice punching. I learnt the proper way to stand in a stance, I enjoyed doing the relays because it was mostly just us running back and forth and I found the "dead fishes" a bit hard because i had to lift both my legs and my arms up without holding my legs. Here are a few pictures of us doing Taekwondo

I am so excited for our next lesson i just can't wait! Have you guys ever tried Taekwondo? Leave a comment and tell me. Bye!

Beeswax Wraps

Kia ora bloggers,

In our class we made Beeswax wraps they are like glad wrap but they are biodegradable and better for our planet. Today I will be showing you how to make them, but first you neend to know what to buy:
Beeswax pellets
100% cotton cloth
An iron
baking paper

  1. Grab an old towel and lay your towel on a table, then you need to place a sheet of baking paper on the towel.
  2.  Grab your 100% cotton cloth and cut it 30cm by 30cm, once you have done that you need to place it on the baking paper(make sure that your baking paper is bigger than the cloth).
  3. Grab a handful of beeswax pellets and distinguish them around your cloth. Now put another sheet of baking paper ontop of the cloth, Iron ontop of the baking paper and wait until the pellets have melted.
  4. Slowly take off the first sheet of baking paper and make sure that every thing melted and that it all covers the cloth. Peel the cloth off then wave it around so it drys faster, and now you have a Beeswax Wraps. PS: DON'T GO NEAR BEES

Here is my beeswax wrap.

Rubbish prevention

Kia ora bloggers,

Do you use plastic bags? Well plastic bags are very bad for our planet, because like most plastic it can take more than 100 years to break down, so they will last longer than you! If you love sea creatures and wildlife like me you should stop using plastic bags because animals think that its food and it can be deady if its ingested. This is an infographic that I  made. Here are some things you can do to help.

What makes a good blog post

Kia ora bloggers!

Today I was looking at a few blogs and guess what I found, I found a blog post with no writing just a slide! But some people might not know what a quality blog post looks like, so you guys don't make the same mistake this is what is in a quality blog post.

That is what is in a quality blog post and this is what a quality blog post looks like.

Hello bloggers,

Today I will be showing you guys something really exciting.
I got a toolkit badge! If your unfamiliar with what a "toolkit" is let me explain it. So it is where a group of schools all comes together at one school and they teach others things for most of the day, so they are basically the teachers for the day. Funny right?
So now the part we have all been wating for the badge!

Comment and tell me if you got one and what you did. Bye!

HEY! I could do something like this for MOTHERS DAY.
What have you been doing during lock down?
Tell me in the comments!
